76 Years of Faith-Rooted Healthcare in Eastern Taiwan

The Mennonite Medical Foundation (MMF), officially known as the “Taiwan Mennonite Christian Medical Foundation,” stands at the foot of Meilun Mountain in Hualien, overlooking the vast Pacific Ocean. Guided by its core spirit of “Go wherever there is need,” MMF has been deeply rooted in the Hualien and Taitung region for 76 years.

MMF operates 8 affiliated institutions, including Mennonite Christian Hospital Meilun Main Campus, Shoufeng Branch, Jian Long-Term Care Campus, and multiple nursing and care homes — offering 43 medical specialties across 9 specialized medical centers.

1948
Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) sends Dr. Roland P. Brown to Taiwan, beginning medical mission work in Hualien.
1954
Mennonite Christian Hospital officially established with 35 beds, serving primarily indigenous and underprivileged communities.
1961
MCH sets up village milk stations, providing 10,000+ schoolchildren with daily nutrition support.
2024
Inaugural Sustainability Report published, with 1,684 employees across 8 institutions and NT$3.34B annual revenue.
